About the Dream Program...

The DREAM (Dance to Reach Every Aim with the Magic in you!) program uses creative, interactive methodology to teach English, Computer skills and personal development of the young person, with a focus on working towards achieving dreams.

We work with young people in rural schools around Kasam, Arni, Vellore and Senjimottur. Children in these areas most often drop out of school before the age of 14 years due to lack of interest and to support their families by going to labour in the cities. DREAM helps them to build bigger dreams, and many of the children in these schools are now going on to higher study, working in nursing, pharmaceuticals, engineering and skilled trades.

We work with these young people by engaging, inspiring and supporting them in the DREAM program, by creating libraries, organising computers and science equipment, teaching English through art, dance, craft and music, running summer camps and providing scholarships where necessary.

Our DREAM team!

We have a DREAM team of volunteers and staff from across the world, who help the children build their capacity through a variety of techniques- from break dancing right through to story telling and even yoga! The OVERWHELMING support that we have received from a pool of experts in the community around us has enriched the program.

If you would like to join our DREAM team as a volunteer, please contact us on the details listed on our contacts page!

Testimonial

Dance, especially, has been a really wonderful medium to stimulate children making them more interactive and confident in all their other classes, even having a visible impact in English, where many really struggle! "

"DREAM is really about this- about tapping the creativity of the children through dance, music and games to enhance their learning."

'Take it All' at MBKG Pannai

Red Nose the Paper launched their drama program at Kings School with a wonderful performance of their play 'Take it All', which presents the problems that arise when a person prioritises material objects over human connections.

Mentoring Tribal Students

Investing in teachers is the best way to light up the lives of children, and Seb's Projects India is always looking for new experts in the field of education to bring new ideas about how to bring the best quality education to our students, no matter what their background or financial capacity.

Our last teaching workshop stressed the value of developing critical thinking capacities in students from an early age, through utilising strategic teaching methods, by teacher and development professional Fionn Quinlan from Australia.
